Role & responsibilities

- Teach English / Professional Communication / Technical Communication courses to undergraduate and postgraduate engineering students as per the curriculum.

- Plan and deliver interactive lectures, tutorials, and language lab sessions to improve students listening, speaking, reading, and writing (LSRW) skills.

- Design and conduct communication skills training, presentations, group discussions, mock interviews, and soft-skills sessions aligned with industry requirements.

- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, question papers, and assessment tools in accordance with academic regulations.

- Evaluate students performance through internal assessments, assignments, presentations, and examinations.

- Mentor and guide students for career readiness, placements, competitive exams, and higher studies.

- Participate actively in departmental activities, curriculum development, accreditation processes (NBA/NAAC), and academic audits.

- Contribute to research, publications, FDPs, workshops, seminars, and continuous professional development.

- Assist in organizing co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as debates, elocution contests, literary clubs, and language enhancement programs.

- Maintain academic discipline, student records,



and perform any other duties assigned by the Head of the Department or Institution.

Preferred candidate profile

- Educational Qualification:

- Masters Degree in English / English Language Teaching / Linguistics / Communication Studies with a minimum of 60 % marks.

- Experience:

- Teaching experience in an Engineering College or Higher Education Institution is desirable.

- Fresh candidates with strong subject knowledge and communication skills may also be considered.

- Skill Set:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

- Ability to train students in technical writing, business communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.

- Familiarity with language labs, digital teaching tools, LMS platforms, and up-to-date pedagogy.

- Strong mentoring, presentation, and classroom management skills.
