The Assistant Manager Network Design & Logistics will be responsible for leading strategic and operational initiatives focused on transportation network optimization, linehaul planning, vehicle capacity utilization, and cost optimization.

This role bridges high-level mathematical/algorithmic modeling with practical supply chain execution. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional leadership across Operations, Procurement, Product, and Finance to re-engineer routing topologies, implement Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) algorithms, optimize fleet deployment, and drive structural supply chain efficiencies.

1. KEY DELIVERABLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Route & Network Topology Optimization

- Linehaul & Carting Route Optimization: Analyze, design, and optimize linehaul, carting, pickup, and delivery routes to minimize network latency, improve service reliability, and lower transportation costs.
- Node Modification Management: Continuously re-evaluate and modify logistics routing logic in response to physical network changes, including the opening, closure, expansion, or relocation of Distribution Centers (DCs), Hubs, Processing Centers (PCs), Service Centers (SCs), and Intermediate Processing Centers (IPCs).
- Cost Reduction Frameworks: Identify, pitch, and execute structural network redesign projects, operational innovations, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve baseline logistics cost savings.

B. Fleet, Capacity & Vehicle Modeling

- VRP & VCP Implementation: Support the development, testing, calibration, and operational deployment of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) and Vehicle Capacity Planning (VCP) models to address dynamic demand fluctuations.
- Vehicle Capacity Utilization: Ensure optimal volumetric and weight capacity utilization across all fleet types, balancing fixed and ad-hoc vehicle allocations.




- Fleet Deployment Strategy: Recommend structural changes to fleet composition and deployment based on long-term volume forecasts, seasonal peak demands, and organizational expansion.
- Contract & Cross-Utilization Optimization: Drive cross-utilization and contract structure optimization across Pickup, Delivery, Carting, Business Partner (BP) fleets, and Full Truck Load (FTL) movement.

C. Analytics, Performance Management & KPIs

- KPI Dashboarding: Develop, automate, and maintain actionable performance dashboards tracking key supply chain metrics:

Cost per Shipment (Linehaul, First Mile, Last Mile) Vehicle Capacity Utilization (Volumetric & Weight percentage)

Network Transit Time & SLA Adherence

Network Latency & Dwell Time

Fixed vs. Ad-hoc Vehicle Spend Ratio

- Root-Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct deep-dive operational diagnostics and RCAs for recurring network bottlenecks, transit delays, or cost overruns, formulating actionable corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA).

D. Leadership, Stakeholder Management & Execution

- Team Management: Directly lead, mentor, and direct junior analysts and operational coordinators (12 years prior experience required).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations (field execution), Procurement (transporter rate negotiation & fleet sourcing), and Product/Tech (TMS/WMS integration & algorithm automation).
- Project Delivery:



Plan and direct end-to-end execution roadmaps for network redesign initiatives, ensuring zero disruption to live operations during network transitions.

2. SKILL MATRIX & COMPETENCIES Technical & Functional Skills

- Mathematical & Network Modeling: Deep understanding of Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP), Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP), Linear Programming (LP), and Facility Location Problems.
- Data Analytics & Tools: Advanced SQL, Python/R for network simulation, Advanced Excel (Power Query, VBA, Data Solver), and BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker).
- Domain Knowledge: First-mile, Mid-mile (Linehaul), and Last-mile logistics operational frameworks; logistics procurement and transporter contracting structures.

Soft Skills & Leadership Competencies

- Stakeholder Management: Ability to present technical data and trade-off analyses clearly to non-technical business leaders.
- Problem Solving: First-principles analytical thinker capable of turning unstructured operational problems into structured mathematical models.
- Execution Focus: High ownership and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting with tight turnaround deadlines.

3. CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Requirement Category

- Total Experience :- Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation Planning, or Network Optimization.
- Leadership Experience:- 12 years of direct experience managing teams or supervising junior analysts.
- Educational Qualification:- Bachelors degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from Tier-1 Engineering Institutes in India (e.g., IITs, NITs, BITS, DTU, or top-tier equivalents).
- Office & Schedule:- Must be willing to work 6 days a week on-site from the Gurgaon Office.
- Availability:- Immediate joiners preferred; max notice period of 30 days.
