Role Description The Assistant Category Manager (Dairy) is a full-time, in office role based in Mumbai. This role supports the end-to-end management of the dairy category, including assortment planning, pricing, and promotions to drive sales and margin.

Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing sales and customer data, tracking market trends, and recommending improvements to product mix and supplier partnerships. The role involves assisting with procurement activities, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams on orders, contracts, and delivery schedules, and ensuring product quality and availability.

The Assistant Category





Manager (Dairy) also collaborates with sales and operations teams to execute category strategies, maintain accurate records, and support continuous process improvement within the dairy segment.

Qualifications

- Strong Category Management skills with experience in product assortment, pricing, and promotion planning for FMCG or food categories, preferably dairy.
- Solid Analytical Skills, including data interpretation, sales performance analysis, and use of spreadsheets or BI tools to support decision-making.
- Experience in Procurement and Contract Negotiation, including supplier selection, terms negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
- Background in Sales or commercial roles, with the ability to collaborate with sales teams to drive category growth and meet revenue targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Food Technology, or a related field; relevant postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Knowledge of dairy products, cold-chain or temperature-controlled logistics, and food safety standards is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other analytical or reporting tools; familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
