About the Role

We are looking for a Senior API & Integration Developer with 8+ years of experience in API development and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE). You will design, build, and support integration solutions across MQ, Kafka, and SFTP, and contribute to our move toward containerized integration on IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4i).

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and deploy APIs and integration flows using IBM App Connect Enterprise

- Build event-driven and message-based integrations using IBM MQ and Apache Kafka

- Develop and maintain secure file transfer integrations using SFTP

- Create REST and SOAP services with data transformation, routing, validation, and error handling

- Work with XML, JSON, and other data formats across systems

- Analyze requirements and translate them into scalable integration designs

- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and optimize performance

- Support deployment of integration components on containerized platforms, including CP4i

- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments

- Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior developers

- Prepare technical documentation and collaborate with architects, QA, and DevOps teams

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 8 years of experience as an API developer and integration developer

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE)





- Proven experience developing integrations with IBM MQ, Kafka, and SFTP

- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP, XML, JSON, and web service standards

- Solid understanding of integration patterns (pub/sub, request/reply, orchestration, file-based integration)

- Experience with ESQL and/or Java for custom transformations

- Familiarity with API security (OAuth 2.0, TLS, certificates, SSH keys)

- Experience with Git-based version control and JIRA

- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4i)

- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift

- Experience with IBM API Connect or other API gateways

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Tekton, GitHub Actions)

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, ELK, Grafana)

- Experience with DB2 or other relational databases

- Banking or payments domain exposure

- Agile/Scrum experience
