About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CA Layer 7 (Broadcom Layer7) API Gateway Engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain APIs for our banking platforms. You will bring strong expertise in API management and gateway administration, along with a solid understanding of banking security and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy APIs and policies using CA Layer 7 API Gateway

- Administer and maintain Layer 7 Gateway environments (installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, clustering)

- Implement API security controls including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, mTLS, and API key management

- Ensure APIs comply with banking security standards and regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, PSD2/Open Banking, GDPR, SOX)

- Configure traffic management, throttling, rate limiting, and threat protection policies

- Integrate the gateway with backend systems, identity providers, and core banking services

- Monitor gateway performance, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis

- Manage the API lifecycle through the Layer 7 API Developer Portal

- Automate deployments and support CI/CD pipelines for gateway policies and configurations

- Collaborate with security, DevOps, architecture, and application teams

- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices





Required Qualifications

- [X]+ years of hands-on experience with CA Layer 7 API Gateway

- Strong experience in API management and gateway administration

- Proficiency in building and troubleshooting Layer 7 policies (Policy Manager)

- Solid knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and web service standards

- Strong understanding of API security: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT, SSL/TLS, and PKI

- Banking or financial services domain experience, with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements

- Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting

- Knowledge of load balancers, firewalls, and network fundamentals

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Open Banking / PSD2 API implementations

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace)

- Knowledge of Java, Groovy, or scripting for custom assertions

- Broadcom/CA Layer 7 certification

- Exposure to other API platforms (Apigee, MuleSoft, Kong, Azure APIM)
