Role Overview :

We are looking for experienced Android Framework Engineers with robust expertise in Android Framework, AOSP, HAL, AIDL/HIDL, Binder IPC and system-level Android development. This is a system-level Android Framework role and NOT an Android Application Development role.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, customize and enhance Android Framework and AOSP components.
- Work extensively on Android Architecture and Android platform internals.
- Develop and modify Android Framework modules using Java and/or C/C++.
- Work on System Server, System Services and Framework Services.
- Extend and customize existing Android System Services based on project requirements.
- Work on SystemUI, Settings and Settings-Lib modules.
- Develop and integrate framework-level features and platform customizations.
- Work with HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) and Android hardware/framework integration.
- Develop and maintain interfaces using AIDL and HIDL.
- Work with Binder IPC, Manager Services and inter-process communication mechanisms.
- Perform AOSP customization and contribute to custom Android ROM development.
- Analyze and troubleshoot ANRs, tombstones, system crashes and framework-level issues.




- Analyze logs, stack traces and system behavior to identify root causes of platform issues.
- Work on Google compliance and certification issues, including CTS, GTS, VTS and STS.
- Integrate, analyze and resolve issues related to AOSP patches.
- Use Git/Gerrit for source-code management, code reviews, patch application and conflict resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve merge conflicts while applying AOSP patches.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development and quality processes.
- Track and manage development activities, defects and tasks using JIRA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex Android platform issues.
