Dispatcher – Container Local Trucking

- Schedule and dispatch container trucks (drayage trucks) for pickups and deliveries.
- Coordinate port/rail terminal pickups and returns, including empty and loaded containers.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, warehouses, terminals, and brokers.
- Provide drivers with container numbers, pickup numbers, delivery addresses, appointment times, and special instructions.
- Track trucks and containers using samsara software, phone, email, and dispatch software.
- Arrange appointments for container pickup/drop-off at terminals
- Monitor gate-in/gate-out times and follow up on delays.
- Handle issues such as traffic, truck breakdowns, missed appointments, rejected containers, and terminal delays.
- Track free time, detention, demurrage, and chassis-related issues
- Maintain records PODs (proof of delivery), container numbers, chassis numbers, and delivery documents.
- Cordinate with customer team about ETA, delays, pickup status, and delivery




- Coordinate multiple drivers and trips to maximize truck utilization and reduce empty/deadhead miles.
- Check that drivers have the required trip information and comply with company procedures.
- Prepare daily dispatch and operational reports.
- Work with the operations/billing team to ensure completed trips are properly documented for invoicing.

Skills commonly expected in Toronto

- Positive English communication by phone and email
- Knowledge of GTA roads and traffic
- Understanding of container/drayage operations
- Familiarity with ports, rail terminals, warehouses, and appointments
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple trucks simultaneously
- Basic knowledge of Excel, email, GPS and transportation management/dispatch software
- Strong problem-solving and time-management skills

Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
