Biena Inc. is a Canadian, Quebec-based biotechnology company specializing in the production and processing of lactic acid bacteria and probiotics for the global market. Operating out of a 55,000-square-foot facility in Saint-Hyacinthe, the organization is currently experiencing rapid growth and employs nearly 70 people.

Reporting directly to the President, the incumbent will lead Biena’s commercial, technical and regulatory development in India.

The role combines market expansion, distributor and strategic-partner development and regulatory coordination for probiotic cultures, lactic acid bacteria and related bio-ingredients.

We are seeking a biotechnology qualified with extensive experience in fermentation, probiotic manufacturing, international business development and global product registration. The ideal candidate will leverage an established industry network and strong scientific expertise to accelerate market entry, support customer applications and build sustainable commercial partnerships.

Job description :

- Build direct relationships with key customers, conduct technical-commercial meetings and convert opportunities into sustainable business;

- Keep communication and regulatory materials up to date in collaboration with the marketing team and regulatory affairs;

- Participate in new product development with clients;

- Analyze market trends and monitor the competition;





- Compile a list of compagnies and suppliers and advise on new opportunities based on market analysis;

- Identify customer needs and forward the specifications to headquarters in the form of a request.

- Work in collaboration with the purchasing, quality, and R&D; departments to provide solutions tailored to customers;

- Coordinate the shipment of samples and follow up with clients.

Requirements

- Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in the fields of food science and technology, food engineering, biotechnology, microbiology, or chemical engineering;

- Up-to-date knowledge of regulations, primarily: regulations concerning natural health products in Canada and India;

- Strong knowledge of global product registration and compliance requirements, with practical experience in India and multiple international markets; familiarity with FSSAI and US FDA GRAS pathways is highly valued;

- Experience supporting strain credentials, clinical studies, scientific substantiation and country-specific product positioning;

- The ability to speak and write in English is mandatory;

- The ability to communicate in Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu is considered an advantage;

- The candidate must be based in, and authorized to work in, India and be available for domestic and international travel.
