Job Summary

We are looking for a Project Engineer with 4–5 years of experience in industrial automation / SPM / machine-building projects. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the complete project execution from project handover through design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, electrical/PLC integration, testing, dispatch, installation, and commissioning.

The Project Engineer will act as a key coordination point between Design, R&D;, Purchase, Stores, Production, Electrical/PLC, Quality, Service, and the customer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

- Understand customer requirements, TDS, approved layout, scope of supply and project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain the project execution schedule.
- Track project milestones such as:
- Design release
- BOM release
- Purchase
- Fabrication
- Assembly
- Electrical
- PLC programming
- Testing/FAT
- Dispatch
- Installation
- Commissioning
- Identify project delays and take corrective action proactively.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Design, R&D;, Purchase, Stores, Production, Electrical/PLC, Quality and Service teams.
- Conduct regular project review meetings.
- Ensure required inputs are available to each department on time.
- Follow up on pending activities and close action points.
- Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager/Project Head.

3. Customer Coordination

- Understand and clarify customer technical requirements.
- Coordinate customer approvals for drawings, layouts and technical specifications.
- Maintain proper communication regarding project progress.
- Communicate changes, delays and technical issues to the customer through the appropriate channel.
- Coordinate customer site requirements before installation and commissioning.

4. Design & BOM Coordination

- Review TDS, drawings, layouts and BOM before project execution.
- Ensure the latest approved drawing revision is being used.




- Coordinate with Design for drawing and BOM release.
- Identify discrepancies between TDS, drawing, BOM, ERP BOM and actual machine.
- Ensure design changes are properly documented through ECN/change control.

5. Purchase & Material Follow-up

- Coordinate with Purchase for critical project materials.
- Track PO status and material delivery against project requirements.
- Identify long-lead items and communicate risks early.
- Coordinate with Stores for material availability.
- Ensure material shortages do not affect the project schedule.

6. Production & Assembly Coordination

- Monitor fabrication, machining, welding and machine assembly activities.
- Ensure production activities follow the approved drawings and specifications.
- Track production progress against the project schedule.
- Coordinate resolution of mechanical, electrical and assembly issues.
- Ensure machine readiness for testing.

7. Electrical & PLC Coordination

- Coordinate electrical panel manufacturing, wiring and machine electrical work.
- Follow up on PLC/HMI programming and debugging.
- Ensure PLC, HMI, servo, VFD, sensors and other automation systems are integrated properly.
- Coordinate machine sequence testing with PLC engineers.
- Ensure final PLC software backup is available before dispatch.

8. Quality, FAT & Dispatch

- Coordinate machine quality inspection before FAT.
- Ensure machine performance is verified against the TDS and customer requirements.
- Track FAT punch points and ensure closure.
- Prepare machine dispatch readiness status.
- Ensure required documentation, drawings, BOM, manuals and software backups are available before dispatch.

9. Installation & Commissioning

- Coordinate service/installation engineers for site activities.
- Ensure site prerequisites are completed before engineer deployment.




- Prepare installation and commissioning action plans.
- Track commissioning progress and customer acceptance.
- Ensure pending points are recorded and closed systematically.

10. Project Documentation & Reporting

Maintain:

- Project schedule
- Project status tracker
- MOM/action tracker
- Drawing/BOM status
- Purchase/material status
- Production status
- FAT report
- Punch-point list
- Installation/commissioning report
- Customer approval records
- Project closure documentation

Required Technical Skills

- Good knowledge of Industrial Automation / SPM / Special Purpose Machines.
- Ability to understand TDS, 2D drawings, layouts and BOMs.
- Basic knowledge of:
- PLC & HMI
- Servo systems
- VFD
- Pneumatics
- Sensors
- Industrial communication
- Electrical panels
- Mechanical assemblies
- Knowledge of machine manufacturing and project execution processes.
- Good understanding of FAT, SAT, installation and commissioning.
- MS Excel and project tracking skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.

Experience:
3–5 years of relevant experience in Industrial Automation / SPM / Machine Building / Project Execution.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Project Engineer who can drive a machine project from design handover to successful customer commissioning, coordinate different departments, identify risks early, and ensure that quality, cost and delivery commitments are achieved.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
