About the Role
As a Finance & Accounts Associate you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations that enable timely reporting and compliance. You will work closely with the accounting team, operations, and external stakeholders (vendors, banks, and tax authorities) to ensure smooth transaction flow, accurate month-end close activities, and statutory compliance. This role provides an prospect to broaden your accounting skills and contribute to process improvements within a growing finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and general ledger entries with accuracy and timeliness.
- Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable workflows, ensuring correct approvals and timely payments.
- Manage accounts receivable activities including invoicing, receipts posting, and follow-up on collections.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and reconcile intercompany or suspense accounts as required.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for GST, TDS, and other statutory records; assist with returns and filings.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including preparing account reconciliations and summary schedules.
- Support preparation of routine financial reports and assist senior accountants with analysis for management reporting.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external parties for audit requests and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls.
Technology Stack
- Core accounting systems: Tally, QuickBooks, SAP FICO, Oracle/ERP (experience with any ERP is advantageous)
- Spreadsheet and reporting: Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
- Tax and compliance platforms: GST portals and e-filing systems
- Banking and payment portals for vendor payments and reconciliation
- Collaboration and document management: Microsoft Office, email, and shared drives
Required Skills & Competencies
- Solid understanding of day-to-day accounting operations: bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of GST and TDS documentation and compliance processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, lookup functions, pivot tables).
- Experience using an accounting/ERP system for transaction entry and reporting.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for coordination with vendors, banks, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks during month-end close cycles.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree in accounting/finance-related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience in AP/AR, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and statutory documentation.
- Prior exposure to ERP systems and GST/TDS processes is preferred.
