We are looking for an experienced Vendor Development Engineer – Fabrication & Machining to manage and develop outsourced manufacturing activities in line with monthly production requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, heavy fabrication, welding, machining, vendor development, costing, quality and delivery management. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing capable vendors and ensuring timely, cost-effective and quality-compliant execution of outsourced components.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage outsourced fabrication and machining activities as per monthly production plans and requirements.
- Identify, evaluate and develop new vendors for fabrication and machining requirements.
- Assess vendors based on technical capability, production capacity, quality standards, cost and delivery performance.
- Prepare and release RFQs, obtain quotations and conduct technical and commercial comparisons.
- Support cost negotiation with vendors and ensure competitive sourcing.
- Monitor vendor performance on Cost, Quality, Delivery and Capacity (CQDC).
- Coordinate with vendors regarding technical requirements, drawings, specifications and manufacturing issues.
- Resolve technical and production-related issues with vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
- Develop alternate and backup vendors to ensure continuity of supply and production.
- Coordinate closely with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase and Planning teams.
- Track outsourced production schedules and follow up with vendors to meet committed delivery timelines.
- Ensure vendors comply with required quality standards, specifications and engineering drawings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost reduction, vendor performance and manufacturing efficiency.

Technical Skills Required





- Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Fabrication and Heavy Fabrication.
- Knowledge of Press Brake Bending, Rolling and Forming processes.
- Practical understanding of Welding Processes and Distortion Correction.
- Knowledge of various Machining Processes and Machining Costing.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings.
- Good understanding of Welding Symbols, GD&T; and Engineering Tolerances.
- Knowledge of Vendor Development and Vendor Evaluation.
- Experience in RFQ Preparation and Quotation Comparison.
- Strong understanding of Costing, Cost Control and Negotiation.
- Ability to manage Vendor Capacity and Delivery Schedules.

Candidate Profile

- 6–8 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Equipment Manufacturing, Fabrication or Industrial Manufacturing.
- Engineering graduate, preferably in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of fabrication and machining processes.
- Proven experience in vendor development, supplier management and outsourcing.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Positive negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and work under production deadlines.
- Should be comfortable with regular vendor follow-ups and coordination.
