A New Quantitative Methodology for Abnormal Geometry

You will be the first person to apply a new quantitative methodology to these studies, which will feed into a paper with a strong likelihood of publication, with your name (optionally) acknowledged. If you enjoy research and problem-solving this is an exciting role.

Overview

We are seeking a senior cardiac sonographer / echocardiographer / radiographer with 5 years+ specialist heart institute experience to perform manual measurements on 7 pre-acquired echocardiography studies (GE Vivid E9/E95). No patient scanning.

You will follow a written protocol, take measurements and enter values into a structured Excel template. A separate, more senior sonographer/consultant cardiologist with an echo fellowship will review output and perform quality control.

A radiologist is also required to perform manual measurements on 1 x Cardiac CT and 1 x Cardiac MRI. The methodology also adjusts Cardiac CT + Cardiac MRI protocols for abnormal geometry.

Suitability

This role is designed for senior sonographers / radiographers working in a specialist heart institute, where detailed multi-view measurement with Doppler, TDI and strain is part of your standard daily protocol.

If most of your experience is primarily first-time screening echos, rapid 15 minute routine scans, or rotations across ER/ICU/stress lab, this is not the right fit.

What the role involves

The work is manual measurement from a written protocol. This includes:

- Caliper-based 2D diameters and wall thicknesses (multi-view, multi-phase)
- Planimetry (annular areas, LVOT/RVOT areas, chamber areas)
- Spectral Doppler: alignment, gate placement, VTI tracing (PW and CW)
- TDI: sample volume placement, e'/a' extraction
- Strain: contour placement and tracking verification (the calculation is automated; the setup is not)
- 3D: volume/area segmentation adjustment where applicable
- Vena contracta (multi-view, 2D colour)
- Qualitative assessments per protocol




- The protocol includes measurements outside standard workflow (e.g., non-standard diameters, angles and multi-view combinations specific to this study's geometry). You will be given explicit written instructions for each. Your job is to follow them precisely, not to substitute your own habit.
- Cardiac CT/MRI have additional protocols

Requirements (all essential):

- Minimum 3 years at a specialist cardiac centre or heart institute. 8+ preferred.
- Routinely perform TDI, vena contracta, Doppler and Strain as part of your daily protocol — not "when the cardiologist asks."
- Your workstation must have: 2D strain module, spectral Doppler and TDI. You must be able to import external DICOM.
- Comfortable following written instructions for measurements outside your usual workflow.
- Comfortable with strain imaging software (ROI placement, tracking verification)
- Accurate, methodical data entry into Excel
- Reliable and self-directed — this is a remote, unsupervised role with milestone-based payment
- All studies undergo independent quality review. Studies with >10% error rate on spot-check will be rejected
- IAE, RDCS, RCS, or BSE accreditation preferred

What we offer:

- Remote work, flexible within agreed schedule
- 12–15 hours/week (max 4 hours/day), 5–6 weeks
- Sonographer: Monthly Full-Time ₹100,000 - ₹150,000 (Pro-Rated to ₹555-₹833/hour)
