Elderly Caregiver / Home Care Assistant

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Elderly Caregiver / Home Care Assistant to provide daily care and assistance to our elderly grandmother.

The ideal candidate should be patient, trustworthy, punctual, respectful, and comfortable assisting an elderly person with daily activities and personal care. This is a position that requires someone who will take the responsibility seriously and provide attentive care throughout their working hours.

Responsibilities

- Arrive on time and follow the agreed work schedule consistently.
- Assist with daily personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting as required.
- Help with walking, mobility, and moving safely around the home.
- Prepare and serve meals and assist with eating if necessary.
- Provide medication reminders and assist according to the family’s instructions.
- Monitor her daily comfort, safety, eating, drinking, and general well-being.
- Keep her bedroom, bathroom, and personal areas clean and organized.
- Change bedding, do laundry, and perform basic household tasks related to her care.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Accompany her to medical appointments when required.




- Communicate regularly with family members regarding her daily routine and any concerns.
- Immediately inform the family about any unusual symptoms, falls, injuries, or changes in her condition.
- Assist with other reasonable daily needs related to her age and care.
- Maintain her privacy, dignity, and independence at all times.

Requirements

- Previous experience caring for elderly individuals is preferred.
- Must be reliable, punctual, honest, patient, and caring.
- Comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be attentive and responsible while working.
- References from previous employers/families are preferred.
- A background in elderly care, nursing, home care, or a similar role is an advantage.

Important

This role involves caring for a very elderly family member, so we are looking for someone dependable who genuinely enjoys helping seniors. The caregiver must be attentive during working hours and should not leave her unattended unless approved by the family.
