About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Copy Editor to join our publishing team. The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of experience in the publishing industry and a strong foundation in copy editing, along with exposure to other stages of the publishing workflow. If you have a passion for language, accuracy, and producing high-quality content, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

- Copy edit and proofread manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, consistency, and clarity.
- Ensure content adheres to established editorial guidelines and style manuals.
- Review manuscripts for factual consistency, formatting, and structural coherence.
- Collaborate with authors, editors, designers, and production teams throughout the publishing process.
- Incorporate author and editorial feedback while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform quality checks before publication to ensure error-free content.
- Support other editorial and publishing activities as needed, including manuscript preparation, content review, and production coordination.

Qualifications

- 1–3 years of professional experience in the publishing industry.
- Proven experience in copy editing books, journals, educational, academic, or other published content.
- Experience in one or more additional publishing functions, such as proofreading,



editorial assistance, manuscript management, production editorial, or content development.
- Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with editorial tools and style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, APA, MLA, or house styles) is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Publishing, or a related field.
- Experience working with publishing workflows and content management systems.
- Familiarity with academic, educational, or trade publishing.
