Lactation Coach

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Lactation Coach to support new and expecting mothers through their breastfeeding journey.

The Lactation Coach will work closely with mothers, newborns, doctors, nurses, and other members of the clinical team to provide practical breastfeeding guidance, address feeding challenges, and help families feel confident and supported during the antenatal and postnatal period.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one lactation counselling to mothers before and after delivery.
- Guide mothers on breastfeeding positions, proper latch, feeding frequency, and milk expression.
- Assess common breastfeeding concerns such as painful feeding, low milk supply, engorgement, blocked ducts, and nipple-related difficulties.
- Support mothers of premature, low-birth-weight, or medically complex newborns in coordination with the clinical team.
- Educate mothers and families on breastfeeding, breast milk storage, pumping, and feeding practices.
- Conduct antenatal breastfeeding education sessions where required.
- Provide bedside support to mothers during their hospital stay.
- Follow up with mothers after discharge when needed.




- Identify concerns that require medical intervention and escalate them appropriately to the treating doctor.
- Maintain transparent documentation of counselling, assessments, and follow-ups.
- Work closely with obstetricians, paediatricians, neonatologists, nurses, and other care teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide mothers and families with empathetic, non-judgmental, and evidence-based support.

What We’re Looking For

- Qualification in Nursing, Midwifery, Nutrition, Physiotherapy, or another relevant healthcare field.
- Certification or formal training in Lactation Counselling / Lactation Management.
- Prior experience supporting breastfeeding mothers and newborns, preferably in a hospital, maternity, or neonatal care setting.
- Strong understanding of breastfeeding practices, newborn feeding, and maternal care.
- Excellent communication and counselling skills.
- Ability to work sensitively with mothers and families during physically and emotionally demanding situations.
- Comfortable working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
