1. Job Summary

The PDI Executive / Technician is responsible for conducting thorough Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) of new EV vehicles before delivery to customers. The role ensures that every vehicle is in excellent condition, all systems and features are functioning properly, required accessories are fitted, and the vehicle meets the company's quality and delivery standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Conduct detailed PDI of all new EV vehicles before customer delivery.
- Inspect the vehicle as per the prescribed PDI checklist and manufacturer guidelines.
- Check exterior body condition for scratches, dents, paint defects, panel gaps and other damages.
- Inspect interior condition, seats, dashboard, carpets, trims and fittings.
- Check tyre condition, tyre pressure, wheel alignment and wheel condition.
- Verify charging port, charging cable, charging equipment and related components.
- Check EV battery status, State of Charge (SOC) and warning indicators.
- Inspect vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
- Check lights, indicators, horn, wipers, washers, mirrors and other controls.
- Verify infotainment system, instrument cluster, reverse camera, sensors and other vehicle features.
- Check air-conditioning and climate-control functions.
- Verify power windows, central locking, keyless entry and other convenience features.
- Conduct diagnostic scanning, where applicable, to identify fault codes or system abnormalities.
- Check brake system, steering, suspension and other safety-related components.
- Ensure required accessories and safety equipment are available and properly fitted.
- Verify vehicle documents, chassis/VIN number and other identification details.
- Ensure software/system updates are completed wherever required.
- Confirm that the vehicle has adequate battery charge before delivery.
- Coordinate with the Service Department for rectification of identified defects.
- Re-inspect the vehicle after rectification and confirm that all issues are resolved.
- Maintain accurate PDI records, inspection reports and defect reports.
- Update vehicle status in the relevant system or PDI register.
- Ensure the vehicle is cleaned,



charged and delivery-ready before handover.
- Coordinate with the Sales and Delivery teams regarding vehicle readiness.
- Report any major technical or quality issues immediately to the Service Manager.
- Ensure proper handling and protected movement of vehicles within the showroom/service premises.
- Follow all EV safety procedures while handling high-voltage systems and charging equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the PDI area.

3. EV-Specific Responsibilities

- Check EV battery condition and charging status.
- Inspect the vehicle's charging system and charging-related components.
- Verify AC/DC charging functionality as applicable.
- Check for EV-specific warning lights and diagnostic errors.
- Follow prescribed safety procedures when working around high-voltage components.
- Ensure high-voltage systems are handled only as per manufacturer-approved procedures.
- Check regenerative braking operation where applicable.
- Verify driving modes and EV-specific vehicle functions.
- Report any abnormal battery, charging or electrical-system behavior immediately.

4. PDI Process

The PDI Executive / Technician should ensure the following sequence:

Vehicle Receipt → Document & VIN Verification → Exterior Inspection → Interior Inspection → Electrical & EV System Check → Mechanical & Safety Check → Diagnostic Scan → Accessory Verification → Road Test, if applicable → Defect Rectification → Re-Inspection → Cleaning & Charging → Delivery Readiness Confirmation

5. Coordination

- Coordinate with Sales Executives for vehicle delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors and Technicians for defect rectification.
- Coordinate with the Delivery Coordinator for final vehicle preparation.




- Inform the Service Manager about critical defects or repeated quality issues.
- Support the Sales team in ensuring timely vehicle delivery.

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain:

- PDI Checklist
- Vehicle Inspection Report
- Defect/Rectification Report
- VIN/Chassis Verification Records
- Charging and Battery Status Records
- Accessory Fitment Checklist
- Final Delivery Readiness Report
- Re-inspection Records

7. Safety & Compliance

- Follow all manufacturer-approved PDI procedures.
- Follow EV and high-voltage safety guidelines.
- Use appropriate PPE wherever required.
- Never work on high-voltage components without proper authorization and safety procedures.
- Follow road safety and vehicle movement guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment.

8. Required Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma / Degree in Automobile, Mechanical, Electrical or related field.
- Technical knowledge of automobiles and EV systems.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of EV charging systems will be an advantage.

9. Experience

- 2–3 years of experience in automobile PDI, service, workshop or vehicle inspection.
- Freshers with relevant automobile/EV technical qualifications may also be considered.

10. Required Skills

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
