JOB DESCRIPTION – PLUMBER

Position: Plumber
Location: IMT Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana
Department: Maintenance / Site Operations
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience: 2–5 Years
Qualification: ITI / Plumbing Trade preferred

Job Objective

To carry out installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of plumbing, water supply, drainage and sanitary systems at the site/facility while ensuring proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plumbing Installation

- Install and maintain water supply, drainage and sanitary systems.
- Carry out installation of CPVC, UPVC, PVC, GI and other plumbing pipes.
- Install water tanks, valves, pumps, taps, faucets, sanitary fittings and related equipment.
- Carry out pipe routing, jointing, cutting and fitting as per site requirements.

2. Maintenance & Repair

- Identify and rectify water leakage, pipe blockage and pressure-related issues.
- Repair damaged pipes, valves, taps, flush systems and sanitary fittings.
- Attend plumbing breakdowns and complaints on a timely basis.
- Conduct regular inspection of plumbing systems.

3. Water Supply & Drainage

- Maintain domestic and utility water supply systems.
- Maintain drainage, sewage and waste-water lines.
- Check water pressure and identify leakage or blockage.
- Maintain proper functioning of overhead and underground water tanks.

4. Pumps & Equipment

- Basic knowledge of operation and maintenance of water pumps.
- Check plumbing connections associated with pumps.
- Identify basic pump-related plumbing issues and coordinate with the electrical/maintenance team where required.

5. Site Work

- Read basic plumbing layouts/drawings.
- Measure, cut and install pipes according to site requirements.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical and maintenance teams.




- Ensure proper slope and alignment of drainage pipelines.

6. Preventive Maintenance

- Conduct routine inspection of plumbing installations.
- Identify potential leakage, blockage or damage before major breakdowns.
- Maintain basic records of repair and maintenance activities.

7. Safety & Housekeeping

- Follow all site safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Ensure safe handling of tools and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping after completing plumbing work.
- Follow company safety instructions while working at height or in confined areas.

Required Skills

- Valuable practical knowledge of water supply and drainage systems.
- Knowledge of PVC, CPVC, UPVC and GI pipes.
- Pipe cutting, threading, jointing and fitting.
- Knowledge of valves, taps, faucets and sanitary fittings.
- Basic knowledge of water pumps and tanks.
- Ability to identify and repair leakage and blockages.
- Ability to read basic plumbing drawings/layouts.
- Good troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.

Qualification & Experience

- ITI / Plumbing Trade certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in construction, industrial, commercial or facility maintenance.
- Candidates with hands-on site experience preferred.

Preferred Candidate

- Candidate should be physically fit and comfortable working at site.
- Should be able to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Candidates from Manesar, Gurugram and nearby areas preferred.
