We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sensor Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the research, design, testing, and integration of pyroelectric sensors and thermal/infrared (IR) detection systems. The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of sensor physics, signal conditioning, optics, spectroscopy, hardware prototyping, and embedded firmware development.
Key Responsibilities
- Sensor Design & Integration: Design, simulate, and prototype sensor systems utilizing pyroelectric materials (e.g., PIR, Lead Scandium Tantalate - PST, PZT) for thermal imaging or motion detection.
- Hardware Development: Design schematic captures and multi-layer PCB layouts tailored for weak-signal amplification and noise reduction in sensor nodes.
- Embedded Programming: Develop low-level firmware (C/C++) for microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, TI MSP430) to acquire, process, and filter pyroelectric data.
- Testing & Calibration: Build test setups to calibrate sensor responsivity, noise equivalent power (NEP), and thermal time constants using blackbody radiation sources.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with firmware, IoT, and enclosure design teams to seamlessly integrate pyroelectric sensor modules into final consumer or industrial products.
Required Skills & Experience
- Educational Background: B.Tech / M.Tech / Ph.D. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Instrumentation & Control, Applied Physics, or Materials Science.
- Core Experience: 2–6 years of hands-on experience in Sensor Hardware Development, specifically with Infrared (IR), Pyroelectric, or Piezoelectric sensors.
- Analog Circuit Design: Solid proficiency in low-noise analog circuit design, including operational amplifiers, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and bandpass filtering.
- Firmware Proficiency: Solid experience in embedded C/C++ programming and interfacing communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Tools: Experience with PCB design tools like Altium Designer, KiCAD, or Eagle, and simulation tools like MATLAB or LTSpice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in R&D; environments, defense/aerospace research sectors, or advanced IoT hardware startups in India.
- Familiarity with thin-film ferroelectric materials, optical lenses (e.g., Fresnel lenses), or uncooled thermal imaging arrays.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹3,000,000.00 per year
