Job Summary

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer / Executive with 2–5 years of experience specifically in the plastic manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, vendor management, negotiation, procurement of engineering/maintenance materials, and ensuring timely availability of materials required for smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end purchase activities for the manufacturing plant.
- Source and procure engineering spares, electrical items, mechanical components, consumables, maintenance materials and production-related requirements.
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
- Negotiate price, quality, delivery timelines and payment terms with suppliers.
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up with vendors for timely delivery.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, Engineering and Accounts teams for material requirements.
- Monitor inventory and ensure timely procurement to avoid stock-outs or production delays.
- Verify material specifications and coordinate with the concerned technical team where required.
- Track pending orders, deliveries and vendor commitments.




- Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documentation and procurement reports.
- Handle vendor complaints, quality issues, shortages and replacement of defective materials.
- Develop alternative vendors and negotiate for cost optimization.
- Ensure purchases are made as per company specifications, approved budgets and timelines.

Requirements

- 2–5 years of relevant purchase/procurement experience in the plastic manufacturing industry is mandatory.
- Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Good knowledge of engineering, electrical and mechanical items/spares.
- Experience in vendor development, quotation comparison and price negotiation.
- Valuable understanding of purchase processes and inventory requirements.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Should be comfortable working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
- Must be willing to work 10–12 hour shifts
- Candidates should be immediately available for interview.
- Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice period will be preferred.
