Job description

Zlan Creations is a Kochi-based strategy, growth and creative firm. We're now building a current consumer tech venture: a peer-to-peer marketplace app, pre-seed funded and in active build. We're looking for a senior designer to own the product's entire design experience from the ground up.

The role
You'll be the lead designer on the product. You'll shape how users discover, trust and transact with each other on the platform, from the first screen to the last. This is a zero-to-one role with real ownership: your decisions will define the product.

What you'll do

- Own the end-to-end UX/UI for a mobile-first marketplace app serving two sides of the marketplace
- Run user research, interviews and usability tests, and turn the findings into design decisions
- Map user flows, information architecture and key journeys such as onboarding, profiles, search, matching and communication
- Design for trust: verification, profiles, safety features and clear communication between users
- Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma




- Build and maintain a scalable design system from scratch
- Work closely with developers on handoff, and review builds for design accuracy
- Iterate quickly based on data, feedback and testing

Who you are

- 3+ years of UX/UI experience, with at least 2–3 years on mobile apps
- A strong portfolio showing shipped products, your process and your thinking, not just polished screens
- Experience with marketplace, consumer or two-sided platforms (strongly preferred)
- Expert in Figma, including prototyping, auto-layout and design systems
- Comfortable with user research and usability testing
- Understands development constraints and works well with engineers
- Thrives in ambiguity and moves fast without losing quality
- Ownership mindset: you care about outcomes, not just deliverables
