Accountant – Job Description

An Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s financial records, recording daily transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations. The role also involves monitoring expenses, reconciling accounts, handling invoices, and supporting compliance with financial and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain daily financial transactions and accounting entries.

Prepare invoices, bills, receipts, vouchers, and payment records.

Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Perform bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Monitor company expenses, income, and cash flow.

Assist with payroll processing and employee expense records.

Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.

Support tax calculations, filings, and statutory compliance.

Coordinate with auditors, banks, vendors, and other stakeholders when required.

Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.

Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable regulations.





Use accounting software such as Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems.

Assist management with financial information and accounting-related reports.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.

Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.

Positive numerical and analytical skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Previous accounting experience is preferred.
