Role Description The WordPress Consultant role is a part-time remote position focused on maintaining and enhancing Akums WordPress-based web presence. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and optimizing WordPress themes and plugins, updating site content, and ensuring responsive, user-friendly layouts. The consultant will troubleshoot performance and security issues, coordinate minor feature enhancements, and implement best practices for SEO and accessibility.



This role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional website updates and providing recommendations on improving site performance and user experience.
Qualifications

- Solid WordPress expertise, including theme customization, plugin configuration, and experience with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg).
- Solid front-end skills such as HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for layout adjustments, styling, and minor interactive elements.
- Experience with website performance optimization, SEO fundamentals, and responsive design across devices and browsers.
- Familiarity with web security best practices, backup and recovery processes, and basic hosting/server management for WordPress sites.
- Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders, gather requirements, and clearly communicate recommendations and timelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity.
- Prior experience supporting websites for healthcare, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Design, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
