Role Overview

2ndLife runs the refurbishment side of the business end to end inward logistics, triage & diagnosis, work order execution, parts inventory, and dispatch through a custom AppSheet + Google Sheets operations system. The Operations Manager owns day-to-day running of this flow: keeping units moving from inward receipt to triage to repair to dispatch, coordinating the technician team’s daily workload, keeping parts stocked, and keeping the underlying data clean and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate the end-to-end refurbishment flow: inward receiving triage/diagnosis work order assignment repair execution quality check dispatch
- Maintain daily usage and data accuracy of the operations system (Logistics & Inward, Master Data, Refurbishment, and Parts Shop sheets; Triage App and Work Order App)
- Coordinate daily workload allocation for the ITI Refrigeration Technician bench team
- Coordinate inbound transport of Deep Freezers/Visi Coolers from distributors and inter-warehouse movement, working closely with the Warehouse Operations team
- Track Parts Shop inventory and raise reorder requests for repair components
- Track and report key metrics: turnaround time (TAT) per unit, technician throughput, defect/rework rate
- Flag process bottlenecks in the triage-to-dispatch cycle to leadership and help implement fixes
- Report daily/weekly operational status to leadership

Additional Candidate Preferences




- Mechanical Engineering background (BE/B.Tech Mechanical, or equivalent diploma) preferred
- 1–2 years’ experience in operations, production, or service coordination — refurbishment, repair/service centers, electronics/appliance servicing, or manufacturing preferred
- Comfortable with spreadsheets/no-code tools (Google Sheets, AppSheet) for daily tracking
- Willing to relocate to or travel daily to the facility location noted above — on-site hands-on role, not remote/hybrid

What’s the Best Fit At 1–2 years’ experience and this compensation band, this is an early-career, high-potential hire rather than a seasoned ops leader — someone who can grow into fuller ownership of the function over time. The best fit is a candidate who:
1. Has spent their first job (or a substantial internship) in a hands-on, technical/production/service-floor setting — not a purely desk-based role.
2. Has some exposure to mechanical or refrigeration equipment through their degree or first job — deep refrigeration expertise isn’t required, it can be built on the job.
3. Is comfortable being on the floor daily, coordinating with technicians and warehouse staff directly, rather than only reviewing reports.
4. Shows initiative and ownership — at this level they’ll be handed real day-to-day responsibility early, so a self-starter mindset matters more than polish.
