Job Title: Passive Network Engineer

Vacancies: 2 (Two)

Location: Bangalore

Job Summary :

We are looking for a Passive Network Engineer with around 2 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling and passive network infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation and maintenance of passive network infrastructure at customer sites.

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in CAT6/CAT6A cabling, fiber optic cabling, patch panels, racks, cable dressing, termination, testing and labeling, along with good site coordination and documentation skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Execute installation and maintenance of structured cabling infrastructure at customer locations.




- Work on CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A copper cabling and fiber optic cabling.
- Perform cable pulling, routing, dressing, termination and labeling.
- Install and maintain Patch panels, Network racks, LIUs/ODFs, Fiber patch panels, Faceplates and information outlets, Cable managers, Patch cords, Rack accessories
- Perform copper cable termination and testing.
- Perform basic fiber optic termination, splicing and testing.
- Use testing equipment such as Cable tester, Fluke tester, OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Visual Fault Locator.
- Identify and rectify cable faults, connectivity issues and physical infrastructure problems.
- Ensure proper cable dressing, routing, tagging and labeling according to project standards.
- Read and understand basic network/cabling layouts, drawings and floor plans.
- Assist in rack installation and preparation.
- Maintain proper separation of power and data cables wherever required.
- Conduct site surveys and identify cabling requirements.
- Coordinate with customers, site engineers, vendors and project teams.
- Prepare installation reports, test reports and completion documentation.
- Maintain proper records of cable routes, port numbers, patch-panel connections and test results.
- Follow site safety procedures and company/customer installation standards.




- Travel to customer locations as required for installation and support activities.

Required Technical Skills - Mandatory:

- 2+ years of hands-on experience in passive networking / structured cabling.
- Good knowledge of CAT6/CAT6A structured cabling.
- Experience with copper cable termination and testing.
- Knowledge of fiber optic cabling.
- Knowledge of patch panels, racks, LIUs/ODFs and cable management.
- Ability to perform cable dressing, routing, tagging and labeling.
- Basic understanding of network racks and physical network infrastructure.
- Experience using cable testing equipment.
- Ability to read basic cabling/network drawings.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have:

- Experience with Fluke DSX or equivalent cable certification testers.
- Experience with OTDR and fiber power meters.
- Fiber splicing experience.
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards such as TIA/EIA and ISO/IEC.
- Experience with data center cabling.
- Experience working on large enterprise/customer sites.
- Exposure to OEMs such as CommScope, Panduit, Legrand, Schneider Electric, Corning or Molex.

Candidate Profile

- ITI / Diploma / B.Sc. Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, Networking or a related discipline.
- 2 - 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in passive networking / structured cabling.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer/project locations.
- Should be comfortable working at project sites and handling physical installation activities.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a project team.
- Good discipline regarding documentation, safety and work procedures.
