NAbout the Role
nWeare looking for an experienced and technically strong UK Payroll Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the end-to-end management of a varied portfolio of payroll clients.
NThe successful candidate will have strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively. This is a client-facing role that requires a qualified approach, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to review and oversee the work of other payroll team members.
NKey Responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of UK payroll clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed deadlines.

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding payroll, HMRC matters, and related compliance requirements.
N
- Process payroll from start to finish, including starters, leavers, salary changes, statutory payments, deductions, pensions, and RTI submissions.
N
- Ensure all HMRC payrollsubmissions and related filings are completed accurately and within statutory deadlines.

- Prepare and review year-end payroll documentation, including P45s, P60s, and P11Ds.

- Review payroll work completed by other team members, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legislation and internal procedures.

- Provide guidance, support, and day-to-day oversight to payroll team members where required.

- Maintain accurate payroll records, reconciliations, and appropriate audit trails.
N
- Monitor payroll calendars and statutory deadlines across the client portfolio to ensure timely completion of all required submissions.

- Deal with payroll queries professionally and efficiently, providing clear advice and practical solutions to clients.
N
- Identify potential payroll and compliance issues and take appropriate action to resolve them.
N
- Contribute to the development and improvement of payroll systems, processes, procedures, and service delivery standards.
N
- Ensure a consistently high level of client service and maintain strong, professional working relationships.

nAbout You
nThe ideal candidate will have:

- Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
N
- Proven experience managing multiple UK payroll clients or a varied payroll portfolio.
N
- Experience with RTI, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, statutory payments, P45s, P60s, and P11Ds.

- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.

- Experience reviewing oroverseeing the work of other payroll professionals.

- Excellent communicationand client relationship-management skills.
