Why this role exists

Cheenta teaches students across India and abroad, from Grade 1 math circles toOlympiad, ISI-CMI entrance and research programs. Our faculty are mathematicians andphysicists, and the classes are strong. What happens between classes is uneven.

A student who misses two homework sets, or a parent who does not know which contestcomes next, quietly drifts away. We want one person who knows each child's account andacts before that happens.

Research on student coaching is clear on one point: proactive, personal contact from askilled adult improves persistence, and automated reminders alone do not. This role isthat adult.

What you will do

- Review each student's account regularly: attendance, homework, test performanceand faculty feedback.
- Follow up on homework and practice, and work with faculty when a student needsextra support or more challenge.
- Notice students who are losing momentum and step in early.
- Keep students and parents informed about upcoming contests, registrations,scholarships, camps and other opportunities, and advise which ones suit each child.
- Hold regular counseling sessions with students and parents, and share clear, specificprogress updates.
- Guide families at renewal time on progress so far and the right next program.
- Work with the Panini8 team to improve the tools counselors use, and help shape thecounseling function as it grows.

Who we are looking for (Must have)

- Prior experience working directly with school-age students and their parents as acounselor, academic advisor, academic coordinator or in student support.
- Experience looking after many students at once on a regular contact schedule, notonly walk-in support.
- Fluent, warm spoken and written English; Bengali as a second language.




- Comfort with data: reads a student dashboard, keeps clean records, notices patterns.
- The judgment to tell a parent something they may not want to hear, kindly and clearly.
- Willingness to work weekends and the 11:30 am to 8:30 pm schedule.
- A degree in any discipline. You do not need to solve Olympiad problems, but you mustbe at ease around mathematics and the people who do it.

Good to have

- Knowledge of the Olympiad and entrance pathways in India (IOQM to INMO, ISI, CMI)or the US (AMC to AIME).
- Experience with families outside India.
- Training in counseling, psychology or education.
- A background as a teacher who moved into student support.
- Interest in growing into university admissions counseling.

What this role is not

- Not sales: Admissions converts new leads. You serve enrolled students, and you mayadvise a family to pause or leave.
- Not teaching: Faculty decide content, homework and levels. You make sure theirdecisions reach the student and get done.
- Not a helpdesk: Admin handles payments, links and scheduling queries. You are not the first line for support.
- Not clinical counseling: You will notice stress and burnout and raise it with parents,but you do not provide therapy.

Terms and how to apply

- Compensation: ₹35,000–45,000 per month, based on experience.
- Working hours: 11:30 am to 8:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday are working days.
- Time off: one weekly off, plus statutory holidays.
- Benefits: health insurance and lunch at the office.
- Growth: counselors who do well may be trained and moved up to universityadmissions counseling through Cheenta Reflect.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
