About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic cable access engineering team. This role involves close collaboration with our US-based systems architects, software developers, and hardware engineers to develop and maintain firmware for next-generation Full Duplex (FDX) Cable Amplifiers and intelligent RF nodes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded Linux, Broadcom broadband SoC platforms, and RF control systems.

Your work will focus on integrating complex hardware components, designing control loops for RF signal management, and implementing telemetry solutions for remote device monitoring. This position provides an exciting opportunity to influence the development of cutting-edge broadband access solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity for users worldwide.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, complemented by at least five years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development. Expertise in C and C++ programming is essential,



along with a solid understanding of RF fundamentals, dynamic signal management, and control loop implementation in RF transmission paths such as DOCSIS or Cable TV plants. Practical experience working with Broadcom broadband SoCs and SDKs at the hardware abstraction level is required.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Embedded Linux driver development, Linux networking internals, and peripheral bus protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART. Additionally, familiarity with telemetry protocols like gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT for device configuration and streaming telemetry is highly desirable. Strong collaboration skills, especially with US-based teams, and excellent technical communication in English are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Develop low-level firmware for Broadcom SoCs, focusing on initializing, configuring, and monitoring RF hardware components. Implement embedded control loops such as AGC, tilt adjustment, and energetic power management to optimize RF signal quality and system performance. Control on-board peripherals, including RF attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers, and environmental sensors, via I2C, SPI, and GPIO interfaces.

Write and maintain custom Linux kernel drivers, character devices, and user-space daemons that interact directly with hardware registers and memory-mapped I/O. Architect and implement telemetry and remote management solutions utilizing gNMI, Protobuf, JSON,



and MQTT protocols to enable real-time device health monitoring and RF performance analysis. Collaborate with US-based firmware, RF hardware, and systems engineering teams through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural planning sessions.

Perform hardware bring-up on custom evaluation boards and production hardware, utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF spectrum analyzers to validate firmware functionality and hardware performance. Continuously optimize firmware for reliability, efficiency, and scalability to support the evolving needs of broadband access networks.
