About The Role We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic cable access engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with our US-based systems architects, hardware, and software teams to design, develop, and maintain firmware for next-generation Full Duplex (FDX) Cable Amplifiers and intelligent RF nodes.

Your focus will be at the intersection of embedded Linux, Broadcom broadband SoC platforms, dynamic RF control loops such as AGC, tilt, and gain adjustments, and modern cable plant telemetry systems utilizing gNMI, Protobuf, and MQTT protocols. This specialized position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cable access solutions that enhance network performance and reliability globally.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.



A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in embedded software or firmware development using modern C and C++ is preferred.

Candidates should have a solid understanding of RF fundamentals, dynamic signal management, and control loops within amplified RF transmission paths, particularly in DOCSIS or cable TV plants.

Experience with Broadcom broadband SoCs and SDKs, as well as embedded Linux driver development and low-level peripheral buses such as I2C, SPI, and UART, is essential. Familiarity with telemetry and serialization technologies including gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT is highly valued. Additionally, proven experience collaborating with US-based or distributed engineering teams, coupled with excellent technical communication skills, will set candidates apart.

Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include developing low-level firmware tailored for Broadcom SoCs, focusing on initializing, configuring, and monitoring digital and analog RF hardware components. You will implement embedded control loops for functions such as Automatic Gain Control, Automatic Level Control, tilt adjustment, and dynamic power management within RF amplification stages.

Controlling on-board peripherals, RF attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers, and environmental sensors over I2C, SPI, and GPIO interfaces will be part of your daily tasks. You will also write and maintain custom Linux kernel drivers, character devices, and user-space daemons that interact directly with hardware registers and memory-mapped I/O.



Architecting and implementing modern out-of-band management and telemetry solutions using gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT will be key to enabling real-time device health monitoring and RF performance analysis.

You will participate actively in joint design reviews, code reviews, and architectural planning sessions with US-based teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and integration. Additionally, performing hardware bring-up on custom evaluation boards and production hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF spectrum analyzers will be vital for validation and troubleshooting.
