Job Profile The Special Educator will be responsible for providing individualised academic, behavioural, social, and developmental support to students with diverse learning needs. The role involves working closely with students, teachers, parents, counsellors, and other professionals to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The Special Educator will identify students requiring additional support, develop and implement appropriate intervention plans, monitor their progress, and support teachers in adapting classroom strategies and learning resources to meet individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify and understand the learning and developmental needs of students requiring additional support.
- Conduct appropriate assessments and maintain student profiles and intervention records.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on students' specific needs.
- Provide individual and small-group interventions to support academic, behavioural, social, and communication skills.
- Adapt classroom content, teaching strategies, worksheets, and learning materials according to individual student needs.
- Work closely with class teachers and subject teachers to implement appropriate accommodations and differentiated learning strategies.
- Monitor student progress and maintain regular documentation of interventions and outcomes.
- Collaborate with parents to discuss student progress, learning needs, and strategies for support at home.
- Coordinate with the school counsellor, teachers, coordinators,



and external professionals wherever required.
- Support students in developing independence, confidence, communication, social skills, and self-regulation.
- Identify students who may require further qualified assessment or specialised intervention.
- Guide teachers on inclusive education practices and appropriate classroom strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information and follow school safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Participate in school meetings, workshops, activities, and student-support initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education / Rehabilitation Psychology / Psychology or a relevant field.
- RCI-recognised qualification and valid RCI registration, as applicable to the role.
- Prior experience working with children with learning difficulties, ADHD, autism spectrum conditions, intellectual disabilities, or other developmental needs will be preferred.
- Experience in a school or inclusive education setting is desirable.
