Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor – Extrusion to independently manage extrusion production during the assigned shift. The candidate will be responsible for machine settings, process parameters, manpower, quality, production output, wastage, changeovers and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage complete extrusion production activities during the assigned shift.
- Achieve daily and shift-wise production targets.
- Monitor machine output, line speed, rejection, wastage, downtime and productivity.
- Allocate operators and helpers according to production requirements.
- Handle machine start-up/shutdown, die changes, material/colour changes and product changeovers.
- Set and monitor key process parameters including temperature, screw speed, line speed, melt pressure, cooling and tension.
- Ensure stable production and consistent product quality.
- Troubleshoot extrusion defects such as dimensional variation, uneven thickness, surface defects, black spots, bubbles, burn marks, die lines and colour variation.
- Coordinate with Maintenance and Tool Room for machine, die and equipment-related issues.
- Coordinate with QC for first-piece approval and in-process inspection.
- Control scrap, start-up waste, changeover waste and rejection.
- Ensure correct usage of raw materials, masterbatch, additives and reprocessed material.
- Maintain production, rejection, downtime and process parameter records.




- Ensure proper batch identification and traceability.
- Conduct proper shift handover with machine parameters and pending issues.
- Maintain GMP, housekeeping, hygiene and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with applicable FSSC 22000 and food-contact manufacturing requirements.
- Train and guide operators on machine operation, quality and troubleshooting.
- Support continuous improvement to increase output and reduce rejection and changeover time.

Candidate Profile

2–7 years of relevant experience in Plastic Extrusion.

- Strong practical knowledge of extrusion machines, dies, screws, heaters and cooling systems.
- Able to independently set and troubleshoot extrusion lines.
- Good understanding of raw material behaviour and process parameters.
- Experience in manpower handling and managing multiple extrusion lines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on and comfortable working actively on the production floor.
- Good coordination with QC, Maintenance, Tool Room, Stores and Planning teams.

Preferred Experience

Experience in plastic zipper/profile extrusion, versatile packaging components, food-contact plastic products or similar extrusion processes will be an advantage.

Qualification

Diploma / CIPET in Plastic Processing, Mechanical, Production Engineering or a related technical field preferred.

Key Requirement: We need a hands-on Extrusion Shift Supervisor who can independently manage machine settings, process control, manpower, quality, wastage and production output.
