Role Description The Senior Resident role is a full time, on-site position based in Kochi at AIMS.

The Senior

Resident will provide inpatient and outpatient clinical care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up under the supervision of consultants.

Responsibilities include managing ward and ICU patients, participating in rounds, documenting clinical notes, ordering and interpreting investigations, and coordinating multidisciplinary care. The role also involves teaching and mentoring junior residents and students, contributing to academic activities such as case presentations and seminars,



and participating in departmental audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Senior

Residents are expected to support research projects, adhere to clinical protocols and ethical standards, and take part in emergency duties and on-call rotations as required.

Qualifications

- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and completed postgraduate residency (e.g., MD/MS/DNB or equivalent) in the relevant specialty.
- Valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council and eligibility to practice in India.
- Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based management.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to teaching and mentoring, with interest in academic medicine and clinical training.
- Willingness to participate in research, clinical audits, and quality improvement activities.
- Capacity to manage high-volume workloads, handle emergency situations, and perform on-call duties.
- Professional integrity, respect for diverse backgrounds, and adherence to ethical and patient safety standards.
- Prior experience as a Junior/Senior Resident in a tertiary care or teaching hospital is an advantage.
