A Senior Designer should have strong creative expertise, industry knowledge, and a keen understanding of jewellery trends and customer preferences with good managing skills.

He/She is supposed to work closely with the Management and Design leadership to develop a deeper and clear understanding on collections. He/She should be able to communicate the same to the Design Team and guide them through the entire process to collection execution and acceptance.

A Senior Designer should have a clear creative vision with practical jewellery-making knowledge and can independently lead a collection from concept and research through design development, sampling, and final production.

Software Knowledge: Corel Draw or Adobe illustrator or any other software they are comfortable with for developing designs.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of metal weights, stone setting and manufacturing constraints, specific to silver jewellery.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the conceptualization and development of new jewellery collections.
- Follow industry and market trends, track competitors and ideate opportunities for fresh design ideas mapped to target customers, events and channel priorites.




- He/She should be able to communicate well within the design team as well as with other internal teams and external partners.
- Work closely with CAD designers, artisans, production, merchandising, and sourcing teams to take designs from concept to final product.
- Review and approve CAD designs, samples, prototypes, and finished pieces.
- Evaluate samples and recommend design improvements based on aesthetics,

functionality, production feasibility, and cost.

- Ensure accuracy in design proportions, detailing, stone placement, finishing, and wearability.
- Analytical skills to incorporate the target costing of a product and suggest how to modify and refine designs accordingly.
- Openness to both giving and receiving honest feedback on designs, and helping continually improve our collections and assortments.
- Ability to incorporate changes quickly based on sampling and production feedback,

mid-process.

- Conduct research on international and domestic jewellery trends, materials,

techniques, and consumer preferences.

- Provide creative direction and contribute to the development of the brand's design language.
- Continuously ideate ways to improve, expand and enhance different aspects of a collection.
- Provide timely input on physical product attributes to the Design Associates for SKU creation.
- Should have a clear understanding of designing within brand aesthetics,



target audience, and price points.
- Mentor and guide other designers and support the overall design team. Should be able to assign work, guide and mentor junior designers as appropriate.
- Should be proactive and organised to ensure design projects are completed and approved within the given timeline.
- He/She should have a problem solving approach so that any designers facing problems can reach out to them.
- Maintain design archives, technical specifications, and collection documentation.
- Ensure all confidential design ideas, materials and specifications are not leaked outside of the organisation, adhering to company IP protection for all design-related activities.
- Manage multiple projects and ensure timely completion of design assignments.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 5 years of experience in jewellery designing, preferably with a reputed jewellery brand or design house. Ideal (but not required) to have specific experience with 925

sterling silver jewellery design.

- Degree/diploma in Jewellery Design.
- Strong expertise in jewellery design development.
- Strong understanding of gold, silver, diamonds, gemstones, settings, manufacturing techniques, and jewellery finishing.
- Excellent understanding of proportions, aesthetics, functionality, and craftsmanship.
- Strong knowledge of jewellery trends and market dynamics.
- Ability to translate creative concepts into commercially successful collections.
- Robust leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines.
- A positive attitude and excitement to make a difference.
