As we expand our project operations, we are looking for an experienced Senior HVAC Design Engineer to collaborate with our team on ongoing and upcoming projects.

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Design Engineer with a minimum of five years of professional experience in HVAC design and engineering.

The selected candidate will be responsible for independently handling HVAC design assignments, performing engineering calculations, preparing technical drawings and developing detailed project documentation.

This is a fully remote, freelance or contract-based opportunity for a qualified interested in flexible work and the possibility of long-term collaboration.

Key ResponsibilitiesHVAC System Design

- Design HVAC systems for commercial, residential, industrial and institutional buildings.
- Prepare HVAC layouts for VRF/VRV, chilled water, AHU and FCU systems.
- Review architectural drawings and project specifications.
- Perform HVAC equipment selection based on project requirements.
- Develop complete HVAC design documentation.

Heat Load Calculations
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations using HAP or equivalent software.
- Calculate cooling loads based on occupancy, lighting, equipment, ventilation and building characteristics.




- Determine suitable HVAC equipment capacities.
- Prepare detailed heat load calculation reports.

Ductwork and Piping Design
- Prepare detailed HVAC ductwork layouts using AutoCAD.
- Develop chilled water piping layouts and equipment connection details.
- Perform duct sizing and pressure drop calculations.
- Design fresh air, ventilation and exhaust systems.
- Coordinate HVAC layouts with other MEP services.

BOQ and Technical Documentation
- Prepare HVAC bills of quantities (BOQs).
- Develop equipment schedules and technical specifications.
- Prepare equipment selection sheets and technical submittals.
- Prepare engineering calculations and design reports.
- Review and revise drawings based on project requirements.

Project Coordination
- Coordinate with the engineering team on project requirements.
- Review HVAC drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Incorporate client and consultant comments.
- Ensure all assigned deliverables meet agreed deadlines.
- Maintain professional engineering and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of professional HVAC design experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and engineering principles.
- Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of HAP, TRACE 3D Plus or equivalent software.
- Experience in HVAC heat load calculations and equipment selection.
- Practical experience in ductwork and chilled water piping design.
- Ability to independently handle HVAC design projects.
- Knowledge of relevant HVAC standards and engineering practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Experience
- Experience working on UAE or Middle Eastern HVAC projects.




- Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and international HVAC design practices.
- Experience with commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, offices or industrial projects.
- Previous experience working with HVAC contractors or MEP consultants.
- Experience coordinating HVAC designs with other engineering disciplines.

Work ArrangementThis is a fully remote position. The selected engineer can work from their preferred location. Assignments will be provided according to project requirements, with agreed deliverables and timelines. The engineer will coordinate remotely with the Climaire team to ensure smooth project execution.
