Job Brief:

- AU Small Finance Bank Limited is seeking an experienced professional to lead the valuation and appraisal of gold assets within our Operations and Services department. This role demands a high level of expertise in gold appraisal to support the bank's gold loan portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely assessment of gold collateral. The candidate will play a critical role in risk mitigation, compliance adherence, and operational efficiency, contributing to the bank's commitment to secure and customer-centric financial services. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of gold valuation standards, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to uphold the bank's reputation and regulatory standards.





Responsibilities

- Conduct accurate and comprehensive appraisal of gold items submitted as collateral for gold loans, ensuring adherence to industry standards and bank policies.
- Evaluate the purity, weight, and market value of gold assets using advanced testing methods and tools to determine accurate loan eligibility.
- Collaborate with the credit and risk management teams to provide timely and reliable valuation reports that support loan sanctioning decisions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of gold market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes impacting gold loan operations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and internal audit requirements related to gold appraisal and loan processing.
- Train and mentor junior appraisers and operations staff on gold valuation techniques, quality control, and operational best practices.
- Implement and continuously improve appraisal processes to enhance accuracy, reduce turnaround time, and minimize operational risks.
- Coordinate with branch and regional teams to resolve discrepancies in gold valuation and support customer queries related to gold loans.




- Prepare detailed documentation and maintain records of all appraisals for audit and regulatory review purposes.
- Participate in periodic internal and external audits to validate appraisal procedures and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
