Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Chemist – Water & Environment Testing to perform and supervise chemical analysis of water, wastewater, effluent, environmental and related samples in accordance with applicable testing standards and laboratory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform and supervise chemical testing of drinking water, raw water, wastewater, effluent and environmental samples.

- Conduct analysis as per IS, APHA, ASTM, EPA and other applicable standard methods.

- Handle instruments such as UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Flame Photometer, COD/BOD equipment, pH meter, conductivity meter and other laboratory instruments.

- Ensure proper sample preparation, testing, calculations, documentation and reporting of results.

- Review test results, worksheets and reports for accuracy and compliance with laboratory procedures.

- Maintain laboratory records, test registers, equipment logbooks and calibration records.

- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017, NABL requirements and laboratory quality procedures.

- Monitor quality control activities, including blanks, standards, duplicates and reference materials.

- Identify deviations, out-of-specification results and testing issues and take appropriate corrective actions.





- Support internal and external audits and assist in resolving audit observations.

- Ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and laboratory waste.

- Guide and train junior chemists and laboratory personnel in testing procedures and safety practices.

- Coordinate with the sample collection, microbiology, reporting and quality teams for timely completion of testing.

- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety and good laboratory practices.

- Support method validation/verification, uncertainty estimation and other quality-related activities when required.

Required Qualifications

- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Environmental Chemistry or equivalent qualification.

- 3–6 years of relevant experience in water, wastewater, effluent or environmental chemical testing.

- Experience in an NABL-accredited testing laboratory will be preferred.

- Valuable knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and standard testing methods.

- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments and chemical analysis techniques.

- Good documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
