Job Title: SAP S/4 HANA Retail ABAP Consultant Seniority Level: Mid-Senior Level Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract/Project-Based Work Model: Offshore | UAE Business Hours Overlap Experience: 5–8 Years Function: Information Technology Specialization: SAP ABAP / SAP S/4 HANA / SAP Retail About the Role We are looking for an SAP S/4 HANA Retail ABAP Consultant to support a major SAP S/4 HANA Retail store rollout for a leading retail operating company. The consultant will work offshore under the ABAP/Development Lead and will be responsible for developing, testing, troubleshooting and supporting custom SAP developments across multiple store rollout waves. This is a specialist role and requires hands-on experience in at least one complete greenfield SAP S/4 HANA Retail implementation, from design through go-live.

Key Responsibilities Develop RICEFW objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows. Develop using S/4 HANA-appropriate technologies including CDS Views, AMDP, OData, BAd Is and released APIs. Prepare technical specifications and review functional specifications.

Perform unit testing and support SIT, UAT, cutover and hypercare activities. Troubleshoot defects and perform root-cause analysis. Optimise ABAP programs for high-volume retail data and HANA performance.

Support data correction programs, reconciliation reports and post-load fixes during cutover. Develop and troubleshoot interfaces in coordination with integration teams. Maintain technical documentation and development handover materials.

Participate in code reviews and follow coding, transport, security and documentation standards. Collaborate with Functional, Integration, Data Migration, Basis and Testing teams across offshore/onshore locations.



Provide support during UAE business hours and extended hours during critical cutover/go-live activities.

Mandatory Technical

Experience5–8 years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience. Solid experience in SAP S/4 HANA ABAP development. At least one complete greenfield SAP S/4 HANA Retail implementation delivered end-to-end, from design through go-live.

Hands-on exposure to SAP Retail data models, including high-volume store and article data. Strong RICEFW development experience. OO ABAP, ALV, BAPIs, BDC, User Exits, BAd Is, Enhancement Framework and IDocs.

CDS Views, AMDP, OData Services, released APIs and ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP). Performance tuning and debugging for high-volume data.

Experience with Fiori/UI5 extensions.

Experience with Adobe Forms and/or Smart Forms. Understanding of SAP transport management. Project & Support Experience Candidates should have hands-on experience supporting: SITUATCutover Go-Live Hypercare Multi-site/store rollouts Production defect resolution Interface troubleshooting Preferred SAP ABAP / S/4 HANA certification.

Experience with large-scale SAP Retail rollouts from offshore. Agile or hybrid project methodology. Exposure to abap Git or g CTS. Jira and/or SAP Solution Manager experience.

Education Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
