Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a Python Backend Developer at Medorax Healthcare India. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services for the pharmacy ERP platform using Python and relevant frameworks such as FastAPI and Django. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing APIs, integrating with databases, optimizing performance, and ensuring secure data handling.

The role also involves collaborating with frontend developers, participating in code reviews, writing unit tests, and supporting troubleshooting and bug fixes. The intern will work closely with the core engineering team to learn best practices in backend architecture and contribute to feature development. API documentation will be maintained using Swagger (OpenAPI).

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python
- Build RESTful APIs using FastAPI and Django / Django REST Framework
- Write and maintain API documentation with Swagger (OpenAPI)
- Integrate backend services with production databases (PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB)




- Work on API integrations with third-party services and internal systems
- Support production backend deployment and debugging
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code
- Participate in code reviews and team collaboration
- Use Git/GitHub for version control
- Implement authentication (JWT/OAuth), middleware, and API security basics

Qualifications

- Strong programming fundamentals with experience in Python and general programming concepts.
- Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs and server-side frameworks (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
- Understanding of Software Development principles, version control (e.g., Git), and debugging practices.
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and clean, modular code design.
- Basic experience working with Databases (SQL or NoSQL), data modeling, and query optimization.
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a remote startup setting, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, containerization (Docker), or microservices architecture is a plus.
- Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI and tools like Postman is a plus.
