KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Process purchase requisitions and raise purchase orders for raw materials, consumables, spares and services as per approved specifications.

- Obtain and compare quotations from vendors, and coordinate rate negotiations under the guidance of the Purchasing Manager.

- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials and resolve delays or discrepancies in coordination with stores.

- Coordinate with production, stores and quality departments to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.

- Maintain and update vendor records, price lists, purchase order status and delivery schedules.

- Verify GRNs against purchase orders and invoices, and assist in resolving quantity/rate discrepancies with vendors.

- Assist in identifying and evaluating new vendors, and support vendor development activities.

- Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, contracts, quotations and correspondence for audit and reference.

- Track open purchase orders and pending deliveries, and escalate critical shortages to the Purchasing Manager.

- Prepare periodic purchase reports (order status, pending deliveries, price comparisons) for management review.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

- Manufacturing Industry (Purchase/Procurement department)

- 3 - 6 years of experience as a Purchase Executive or in a similar procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing plant.

- Working knowledge of procurement processes, purchase order processing and vendor follow-up.

- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Tally/other) and MS Excel for purchase tracking and reporting.

- Basic understanding of raw material markets and pricing relevant to the industry.
