Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Head to lead and manage the complete procurement function for construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in construction industry procurement, with proven expertise in sourcing construction materials, vendor management, negotiation, and purchase planning.

Construction industry experience is mandatory. Candidates from other industries will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the complete purchase and procurement function for construction projects.
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies in line with project requirements and company objectives.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for construction materials, equipment, tools, and services.
- Identify reliable vendors and maintain a strong supplier network.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations and ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Coordinate with Project, Planning, Stores, Accounts, and other departments to understand and fulfil material requirements.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to project sites.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and service.
- Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documentation, quotations, purchase orders, and related documents.
- Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure procurement is carried out in accordance with company policies and approval procedures.




- Handle material shortages, quality issues, delayed deliveries, and other procurement-related concerns.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
- Lead and guide the purchase team and monitor their performance.
- Prepare regular procurement reports and updates for management.
- Ensure proper coordination between procurement and construction site teams to avoid project delays.

Requirements

- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the Construction Industry.
- Construction procurement/purchase experience is mandatory.
- Candidates with experience only in other industries will NOT be considered.
- Robust knowledge of construction materials, including civil, structural, finishing, MEP, electrical, plumbing, and other project-related materials.
- Proven experience in vendor development, sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, and purchase management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and documentation.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor-management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and purchase/inventory management systems.
- Experience in handling ERP-based procurement systems will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and procurement requirements simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Immediate joiners will be preferred.

Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
