nAbout the Role
nThe Psychology & Wellness Teacher will support students through engaging psychology and wellness learning experiences while also providing appropriate guidance and counselling support.
n
nThe teacher will work closely with students, teachers, parents, coordinators, and school leadership to promote a safe, inclusive, emotionally supportive, and positive school environment.
nWhat You'll Do
n
nPsychology & Wellness Teaching
n
n
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities related to psychology, well-being, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, relationships, and personal development.
n
- Develop students' understanding of emotions, behaviour, communication, resilience, and healthy relationships.
n
- Use interactive, experiential, and student-centered approaches to make learning meaningful.
n
- Support students in developing positive coping strategies, decision-making skills, and self-management.
n
- Adapt learning activities to suit different age groups and student needs.
n
- Encourage students to reflect on their experiences, emotions, strengths, and personal growth.
n
n
nStudent Counselling & Support
n
n
- Provide appropriate one-to-one and group guidance to students.
n
- Support students experiencing academic, emotional, social, behavioural, or peer-related challenges.
n
- Help students develop healthy coping mechanisms and communication skills.
n
- Support students dealing with concerns such as stress, anxiety, peer relationships, bullying, adjustment, or academic pressure.
n
- Identify students who may require additional support and follow appropriate school referral procedures.
n
- Refer students to qualified external mental health professionals when required and in accordance with school policies.
n
n
nStudent Well-being Programmes
n
n
- Develop and conduct wellness, mental health awareness, emotional intelligence, stress management, and life-skills programmes.
n
- Organize age-appropriate workshops and awareness sessions for students.
n
- Support initiatives related to social-emotional learning and positive school culture.
n
- Conduct activities that promote resilience, confidence,
empathy, mindfulness, communication, and healthy relationships.
n
- Contribute to school-wide student well-being initiatives.
n
n
nParent & Teacher Collaboration
n
n
- Work collaboratively with teachers and coordinators to identify and support students who may need additional assistance.
n
- Communicate appropriately with parents regarding student well-being and development.
n
- Conduct or support parent awareness sessions on topics related to child and adolescent well-being.
n
- Support teachers in understanding and responding appropriately to student behavioural and emotional needs.
n
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in all interactions.
n
n
nAssessment & Documentation
n
n
- Observe and identify student needs using appropriate professional practices.
n
- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to counselling and student support.
n
- Monitor student progress and document interventions where appropriate.
n
- Prepare periodic reports and updates for the relevant school leadership, in accordance with school policies.
n
- Follow appropriate safeguarding, confidentiality, and referral procedures.
n
n
nCrisis & Safeguarding Support
n
n
- Provide appropriate first-line emotional support during student or school-related crisis situations.
n
- Follow the school's safeguarding and child-protection procedures.
n
- Escalate serious concerns to the appropriate school leadership or qualified professionals.
n
- Maintain skilled, ethical, and confidential practices at all times.
n
n
nWhat We're Looking For
n
n
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
n
- Relevant counselling, child psychology, adolescent psychology, or wellness certification will be an advantage.
n
- 2–3 years of experience in school counselling, psychology, student wellness, teaching, or a related role is preferred.
n
- Experience working with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
n
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Strong listening, observation, empathy, and relationship-building skills.
n
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, confidentiality, and care.
n
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, coordinators, and school leadership.
n
- Good documentation and organizational skills.
n
n
