Position Overview

nWe are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, distributed systems, microservices, and AWS cloud technologies .

nThe role will focus on designing, developing, scaling, and supporting highly available backend services and APIs for customer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will have strong ownership of backend architecture, application performance, production reliability, security, observability, and cloud-native engineering practices.

nExperience with React and/or Java/Spring Boot is a plus but not mandatory.

nMinimum Qualifications

n

n
- 7–9 years of overall software engineering experience , including at least 5 years of strong backend development experience .
n
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript .
n
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservice-based applications .
n
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture.
n
- Experience designing and developing scalable and maintainable distributed systems .
n
- Solid hands-on experience with Amazon DynamoDB , including:
n
- Partition key and sort key design
n
- Global and local secondary indexes
n
- Query and access-pattern-based data modeling
n
- Performance and scalability considerations
n
- Strong experience with AWS services including ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch .
n
- Experience developing asynchronous, queue-based, and event-driven workflows .
n
- Experience building secure, resilient, scalable, and highly available applications.
n
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest,



Mocha, or equivalent .

- Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines , including Jenkins or equivalent platforms.
n
- Strong experience with Git-based source control and development workflows.
n
- Strong understanding of application monitoring, debugging, observability, incident management, and production support.
n
- Good understanding of API security, authentication/authorization, error handling, resiliency, and performance optimization.

nKey Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript .
n
- Build reliable, secure, and highly available microservice-based and distributed applications.
n
- Design efficient data models and access patterns using Amazon DynamoDB .
n
- Build cloud-native and event-driven solutions using AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, SQS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
n
- Develop asynchronous processing workflows, background jobs, integrations, and messaging-based architectures.
n
- Define service boundaries, API contracts, data flows, and backend architecture.
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and customer-facing issues.
n
- Identify and address performance, scalability, stability, security, availability, and extensibility challenges.
n
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and code reviews.
n
- Develop automated unit, integration, API, and service-level tests.
n
- Monitor production applications using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
n
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, and deployment processes.
n
- Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, Architects, and globally distributed engineering teams.

- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment.

- Take end-to-end ownership of backend features from design and implementation through deployment and production support.

- Mentor engineers and contribute to backend engineering standards and architectural best practices.
