nJob Summary:

nOrion Fashions is looking for a highly experienced Pattern Master – Leather Garments with strong technical expertise in pattern making, fitting, grading and garment construction. The candidate will be responsible for developing accurate production-ready patterns from buyer tech packs, sketches, measurements and approved samples, while ensuring correct fit, construction, leather utilization and production feasibility.

nKey Responsibilities:

- Develop accurate patterns for men’s and women’s leather garments based on buyer specifications, tech packs, sketches and measurement charts.
n
- Handle patterns for leather jackets, coats, waistcoats, trousers, skirts and other leather apparel.
n
- Develop first patterns for sampling and modify them based on buyer/technical comments.
n
- Conduct fit analysis and make required pattern corrections after fit sessions.
n
- Ensure proper balance, shape, proportion, ease and garment measurements as per buyer requirements.
n
- Prepare and maintain patterns for Proto, Fit, Size Set, PP and Production stages .
n
- Carry out accurate pattern grading for complete size ranges.
n
- Ensure production patterns are finalized and approved before bulk cutting.
n
- Coordinate closely with Merchandising, Sampling, Cutting, Production and Quality teams.
n
- Review buyer tech packs, measurements and construction details before starting pattern development.
n




- Identify technical issues at development stage and recommend practical construction solutions.
n
- Ensure patterns are suitable for leather characteristics such as stretch, thickness, shrinkage and panel limitations.
n
- Support optimum leather utilization by designing technically effective patterns without affecting fit or appearance.
n
- Coordinate with Cutting Department on pattern placement, leather consumption and production-related pattern issues.
n
- Check pilot/size-set garments before bulk production and confirm pattern accuracy.
n
- Maintain proper records of pattern revisions, buyer comments and approved versions.
n
- Ensure latest approved patterns are issued to the concerned departments and obsolete versions are controlled.
n
- Guide sample tailors and production teams on difficult constructions, critical measurements and assembly methods.
n
- Support the technical team in resolving fit, construction and measurement deviations during production.
n
- Work on pattern corrections arising from quality issues or buyer feedback.
n
- Ensure consistency in fit and measurements across all production sizes.
n
- Assist in calculating garment/leather consumption in coordination with merchandising and cutting teams.
n
- Train and guide junior pattern masters,



assistants and pattern department staff.
n
- Maintain pattern department discipline, accuracy, timelines and technical standards.
n

nRequired Skills & Knowledge:

n

n
- Minimum 20 years of hands-on pattern-making experience , preferably in leather garments/export manufacturing.
n
- Expert knowledge of leather garment construction and fitting .
n
- Strong understanding of leather behavior, shrinkage, stretch, grain direction, defects and panel matching.
n
- Excellent knowledge of manual pattern making and grading.
n
- Knowledge of CAD pattern systems will be an added advantage.
n
- Strong understanding of measurement charts, tech packs, buyer comments and garment specifications.
n
- Ability to independently handle complicated and high-fashion leather garments.
n
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.
n
- Good understanding of production feasibility, leather consumption and cutting requirements.
n
- Ability to work accurately under strict sample and shipment deadlines.
n

nPreferred Qualification:

nDiploma/Certification in Pattern Making, Garment Technology, Fashion Design or Apparel Production preferred. Extensive practical leather garment experience will be given priority.

nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs):

nFirst-fit approval rate, pattern accuracy, reduction in fit-related rework, timely pattern completion, accuracy of grading and measurements, leather consumption efficiency, reduction in production pattern issues, and timely support to sampling and production.
