Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based at the SpecsBunker store in Visakhapatnam. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and contact lens evaluation, using advanced diagnostic equipment. The role involves diagnosing vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses, and counseling clients on eye health, lens options, and frame selections in collaboration with the store team.

The Optometrist will ensure accurate clinical documentation, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and support the delivery of a premium, customer-centric experience.



Additional responsibilities include coordinating follow-up care, supporting store training on eye health basics, and contributing to continuous improvement of clinical and service standards.

Qualifications

- Professional qualifications in optometry (Bachelor of Optometry or equivalent) from a recognized institution; valid registration or eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies.
- Demonstrated experience in performing comprehensive eye examinations, prescribing lenses, and managing common vision conditions in a retail or clinical setting.
- Strong patient care skills, including clear communication, active listening, and ability to explain complex clinical information in an accessible manner.
- Comfort using advanced diagnostic tools and willingness to learn and work with digital and AI-enabled technologies in-store.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales and customer experience teams to deliver a seamless, premium eyewear and eye care journey.
- Attention to detail, strong record-keeping skills, and commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical accuracy and hygiene.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
- Prior experience in luxury eyewear, retail eye care, or fashion-forward optical environments is a plus.
