Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day operations of all Operation Theatres (OTs).

- Plan and coordinate the OT schedule with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff and other departments.

- Ensure OT readiness before every procedure, including instruments, equipment, consumables and emergency supplies.

- Supervise OT technicians, nurses, attendants and support staff.

- Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.

- Monitor sterilization, disinfection and CSSD coordination.

- Maintain proper availability and inventory of OT drugs, surgical consumables, implants and instruments.

- Ensure compliance with NABH and hospital quality standards.

- Track OT utilization, cancellations, delays and turnaround time, and prepare MIS reports.

- Handle emergencies, operational issues and staff shortages effectively.

- Conduct staff training, orientation and competency assessments.

- Ensure adherence to hospital SOPs, policies and safety protocols.





Preferred candidate profile

- Qualification: Diploma/Bachelors in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent.

- Experience: 8–10 years of relevant experience in Operation Theatre management.

- Experience in a multispecialty hospital / Medical College preferred.

- NABH-accredited hospital experience will be an advantage.

- Strong knowledge of OT protocols, infection control, sterilization and surgical safety standards.

- Positive understanding of OT equipment, instruments, consumables and inventory management.

- Excellent team handling, coordination and leadership skills.

- Knowledge of OT documentation, checklists, SOPs and MIS reporting.

- Ability to coordinate effectively with surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, CSSD and support departments.

- Strong focus on patient safety, quality and operational efficiency.
