Occupational Therapist

Sankalp Special School, Kochi

Sankalp Special School, Kochi, is looking for a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team working with children with special needs.

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing individualised occupational therapy interventions to support children's sensory, motor, functional, behavioural and daily living skills, enabling greater independence and participation in school and everyday activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and identify individual therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy plans for children with special needs.
- Provide therapy focused on fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, sensory processing, hand-eye coordination and activities of daily living.
- Conduct sensory integration and functional skill-based interventions.
- Monitor, document and evaluate children's progress.
- Work closely with Special Educators, Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Provide guidance to parents and teachers for reinforcement of therapeutic activities at home and in the classroom.
- Maintain therapy records and periodic progress reports.
- Contribute to a supportive,



inclusive and child-friendly learning environment.

Eligibility
- Qualification: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (BOT/MOT) from a recognised institution.
- RCI Registration/Certification: Valid RCI registration/certification is mandatory.
- Relevant experience in working with children with special needs will be preferred.
- Experience in sensory integration, developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD or intellectual disabilities will be preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient and child-friendly approach.
