About The Role

WorldWide Technology Holding Co, LLC. (WWT) is seeking a highly skilled Lead / (SME) Network Engineer for a remote, long-term contract position. This role is ideal for an experienced networking professional who thrives in complex, transformational projects within a regulated or large enterprise environment. As a Lead / SME Network Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert, guiding engineering teams, designing and deploying network solutions, and ensuring alignment with architectural standards.

You will be responsible for end-to-end project execution, collaborating with global support teams, and transitioning solutions into operational support. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge network infrastructure projects, influence architectural standards, and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of demonstrable experience in designing, leading, and implementing complex network solutions.

Experience operating as a Lead Engineer on large programmes, providing technical leadership,



and delivering progress updates to executive stakeholders is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to workload and time management, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication abilities are necessary to effectively explain complex technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.

Certifications such as Cisco CCIE Enterprise, FortiGate Professional, or F5 LTM/GTM at Certified Technical Specialist level are advantageous. In-depth knowledge of various network technologies, including Cisco routing and switching, Juniper, F5 load balancers, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Firepower, and campus wireless solutions, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

- Serve as a subject matter expert in two or more network technologies, with a working knowledge of additional technologies used within the organization.
- Scope, plan, and lead large transformational programmes and network-led initiatives, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to architectural standards.
- Design, build, and deploy scalable, secure, and reliable network infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements.
- Develop detailed low-level designs and supporting documentation to facilitate implementation and maintenance.
- Collaborate with global support teams to ensure smooth transition of solutions into operational support and ongoing maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with governance, change management, and risk management policies, ensuring all activities adhere to regulatory and internal standards.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align project objectives, resolve issues,



and deliver solutions on time and within scope.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Produce accurate estimates for workload, project timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring realistic planning and delivery.
- Demonstrate solid problem-solving skills by analyzing issues, making informed decisions, and implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks and delays.
