Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Chennai.

The Mechanical Design

Engineer will design and develop electroplating and anodizing plants, including mechanical layouts, equipment structures, and automated mechanisms.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD tools, selecting mechanical components and materials, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards. The role involves collaborating with production, electrical, and project teams, supporting installation and commissioning, and resolving design-related issues on the shop floor and at customer sites.



The engineer will also participate in design reviews, update documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of plant efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with applied knowledge in industrial equipment and plant design.
- Proficiency in Design Engineering and Machine Design, including strength calculations and selection of mechanical components.
- Experience in Product Design for custom industrial systems, preferably in process or automation plants.
- Hands-on expertise with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, P&IDs;, and engineering standards relevant to industrial plants.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, and materials used in mechanical structures.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Positive written and verbal communication skills for documentation and technical discussions with stakeholders.
- Experience in electroplating, anodizing, or process plant automation is an advantage.
