Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of machinery, electrical systems, equipment, and utility systems. The role ensures protected and efficient operation of plant and project equipment, minimizes breakdowns and downtime, supports installation activities, and ensures all maintenance work is completed according to safety standards and company requirements

Job Context The Maintenance Engineer works closely with the Maintenance, Production, Project, Quality, and other technical teams to ensure smooth operation of machines and equipment. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, equipment installation, panel and motor connections, machine commissioning, and coordination with internal teams and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of machinery, equipment, electrical systems, and utility equipment.
- Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Read and understand electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, machine manuals, and layouts.
- Install and connect electrical panels, motors, machines, and other equipment.
- Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting of electrical faults.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and machine-related problems.
- Maintain motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, bearings, sensors, and other industrial equipment.
- Ensure proper wiring, cable connections, earthing, and electrical safety of equipment.
- Support installation, modification, commissioning, and start-up of machines and equipment.




- Conduct regular inspection of machinery to identify potential failures and maintenance requirements.
- Prepare and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with the Production and Project teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment servicing and technical support.
- Maintain tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance materials properly.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working conditions in the maintenance area.
- Follow electrical, mechanical, and industrial safety standards and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for improving machine reliability and reducing breakdown frequency.
- Report daily maintenance activities, breakdowns, and equipment conditions to the Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager.
- Coordinate with the project team for timely completion of installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities.

Knowledge & Skills

- Good knowledge of industrial machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, panels, motors, and equipment connections.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment and maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Knowledge of motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, bearings, sensors, and industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical tools, mechanical tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Basic knowledge of machine control systems and electrical controls.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of machine installation and commissioning.
- Awareness of electrical, mechanical, and industrial safety practices.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work with Production, Project, Quality, and technical teams.
