Purpose/Objective To lead and manage the dispute resolution and litigation strategy for Adani RMRW, safeguarding the business unit’s commercial interests.

This role focuses on driving effective legal interventions, managing complex infrastructure arbitrations, ensuring statutory compliance, and closely partnering with business teams to mitigate legal and regulatory risks in a highly dynamic sector

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Spearhead the end-to-end management of legal disputes, arbitrations, and litigations pertaining to infrastructure, road, metro, and water projects.
- Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, claims, counterclaims, writ petitions, and settlement agreements to protect business interests.
- Formulate strategic legal responses to regulatory bodies, government authorities, and external stakeholders.
- Brief and manage external legal counsels, senior advocates, and law firms to ensure high-quality representation in various tribunals and courts.
- Proactively identify legal risks in ongoing EPC contracts and advise project teams on mitigation strategies and claim management.
- Monitor and track all ongoing litigations, maintaining a comprehensive legal MIS to report financial and operational risks to senior management.
- Ensure strict adherence to statutory compliances, regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance standards within the business unit.
- Drive alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms to achieve cost-effective and timely settlements where viable.

Qualifications and Experience

- Required Qualifications & Experience - LLB degree from a recognized university; LLM with a specialization in Corporate/Commercial Law is highly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of active post-qualification experience (PQE) in handling complex civil and commercial litigations.
- Must hold a valid registration with the Bar Council of India. Educational Background - Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a premier institute.

- Additional certifications or diplomas in Arbitration or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) will be an advantage. Years & Type of Experience - 10+ years of progressive experience, with a significant portion spent either in a reputed law firm or as in-house counsel for an infrastructure/EPC company.

- Proven experience in managing high-stakes arbitrations and commercial disputes specifically related to large-scale infrastructure projects. Domain Expertise - Deep understanding of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Indian Contract Act, Specific Relief Act, and insolvency laws (IBC).

- Solid command over drafting commercial claims, FIDIC contract conditions, and infrastructure dispute mechanisms.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing roads, metro, and water sectors in India. Digital & Operational Tools - Proficiency in using legal research databases such as SCC Online, Manupatra, or LexisNexis.

- Familiarity with enterprise legal management software or litigation tracking platforms.
- Competency in MS Office suite and exposure to ERP platforms like SAP for budget and vendor management.
