Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Biochemistry & Microbiology)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician with hands-on experience in Biochemistry and Microbiology. In this role, you will be responsible for processing biological specimens, performing complex analytical tests, and ensuring the accuracy of laboratory results. You will play a vital role in patient care by adhering to strict quality control standards and maintaining a safe, efficient laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Testing & Analysis

- Perform routine and specialized biochemical assays, including blood chemistry panels, electrolytes, liver/kidney function tests, and hormone assays.
- Conduct microbiological procedures, including culture inoculation, staining (Gram/AFB), microscopic examination, bacterial identification, and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST).
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain automated laboratory analyzers and equipment (e.g., chemistry analyzers, centrifuges, incubators).

Specimen Handling & Processing

- Collect, receive, label, and centrifuge biological samples (blood, urine, sputum, fluid swabs) according to safety protocols.
- Evaluate specimen integrity and reject unsuitable samples based on established criteria.
- Prepare reagents, stains, culture media, and solutions accurately.

Quality Control & Compliance

- Run daily internal quality controls (QC)



and participate in external quality assurance programs.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or out-of-range QC results, and document corrective actions.
- Maintain strict adherence to biosafety guidelines, infection control protocols, and waste management regulations.

Data Management & Reporting

- Document and enter test results accurately into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Identify and immediately report critical/panic values to ordering physicians or senior medical staff.
- Maintain organized records of equipment logs, maintenance histories, and inventory levels.

Qualifications and Skills

- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT / BMLT), Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.
- Experience: [Insert number, e.g., 3–7 years of clinical laboratory experience specifically managing biochemistry and microbiology sections.
- Technical Skills: Solid proficiency in pipetting, microscopy, automated biochemistry platforms, and manual microbiological techniques.
- Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure or during night/weekend shifts.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with LIMS software and basic Microsoft Office applications.

Pay: ₹20,200.00 - ₹28,094.17 per month
